This
page should be printed and put in a safe file. This will help you with some common email
problems. Most issues are easily remedied and require just a few points and
clicks to configure properly.
You DO NOT have to
connect to the Internet to check these configurations.
1. Double Click on your Outlook Express icon. (It will probably try and connect, just cancel dialer) 2. Once Outlook Express is opened click on TOOLS on the top. From TOOLS go down and click ACCOUNTS. Now in Internet Accounts window click the MAIL tab at the top. 3.Click your SpinnNet account,(mail.spinn.net). With your SpinnNet account highlighted click PROPERTIES on the right side of that window. 4. A mail.spinn.net properties window will pop up under the GENERAL tab. Make sure that you see mail.spinn.net. Also make sure you see your name and your correct email address is correct below. A. Click the SERVERS tab and make sure that the following info is implemented. a. POP3 server b. Incoming mail server: mail.spinn.net c. Outgoing mail server: smtp.spinn.net d. Make sure you are using the correct username and password in all lowercase lettering. (some passwords will have upper and lowercase letters.)5. Now click on the Connection tab. Make sure that the dial up account is set as SpinnNet. Link to the Official Microsoft Outlook Express Homepage1. Double click on your Netscape Communicator icon. 2. Once Netscape is opened select EDIT in the upper right hand corner. And from EDIT select PREFERENCES. 3. A window will pop up that is divided in two. On one side there are options to choose and on the other side is the display of the particular option. Double click on MAIL AND NEWSGROUPS. 4. Right below MAIL AND NEWSGROUPS a list of items should have dropped down with titles like IDENTITY and MAIL SERVERS. 5. Click IDENTITY and make sure that on the right side you see your name and email address displayed.(Only your name and email address need to be entered.) Make sure your email address is correct, all lowercase lettering. 6. Now click on MAIL SERVERS and make sure that the following info is set up. A. Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.spinn.net
B. Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.spinn.net 7. Click OK to save all changes. If these settings are set up properly in your PC and your email still does not work then call SpinnNet techsupport @ 938-7746. |
