What Is Linux?
In short, Linux is a free, powerful, and stable operating system like
Windows98, except Linux is free, powerful and stable.

- Spinn.Net
customers using our Megabit service with Linux should check
out this Cisco
675 page. It has various instructions on setting up the Cisco,
including all the commands you'll need. To set your Cisco to connect
automagically whenever the box is on, just go to the 'Setting
up PPP Mode' section and follow the instructions. One thing he doesn't mention
is that the program you'll use to access the Cisco from Linux is minicom.
Look for some more specific instructions on using Linux with Megabit
here soon.

- The NM Linux Users Group is having an Install party for our next meeting
on Wednesday April 12th from 6pm until as late as 10pm at Southwest
Cyberport.
Just bring your computer, some time, and the desire to learn something.
There will be people on hand to help install Linux or one of the BSD systems.
Check out http://www.nmlug.org/events.php3 for a map to SWCP and more info.
See you there.

- As of today,
spinnone, our Redhat Linux based email server
here at Spinn.Net, has been running continuously running for 8 months
without a reboot. One more reason I love Linux. :)
Here's the uptime result:
[mattg@spinnone mattg]$uptime
12:35pm up 240 days, 6:51, 1 user, load average: 0.53, 0.54, 0.52
The only reason it had to be turned off 8 months ago was we moved the
machine into a new room. If not for that I think the uptime would have been
closer to a year.
